Privacy Policy

Measy plans your week of meals from a few answers about how you cook and shop. This policy
explains what personal data the app collects, how it is used, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Measy is operated by Tomo Interactive Ltd (“we”, “us”),
a company registered in the United Kingdom and the data controller for the personal data
described here. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
under registration number ZC209137.
What we collect
- Answers you give during setup: your first name (optional), age range, goals, weekly budget, household size, cuisine preferences, dietary needs, dislikes, allergies, kitchen appliances and cooking time.
- Your weekly meal plan, shopping-list ticks and cooking-streak activity.
- Measy Fit (optional): your fitness goal, training days, bodyweight and weigh-ins, the workouts you log (exercise names, weights, reps and notes) and, if you enter them, your sex, age, height and activity level. This is stored on your device. It is copied to your account only if you sign in and switch on “Back up workouts & weigh-ins” in Settings, and switching it off deletes that copy. Analytics only ever receive counts — for example that a workout was logged or that a weigh-in went down — never the figures themselves.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google: your account identifier with that provider and the email address it shares with us (Apple's may be a private relay address), plus your name if you choose to share it.
- Subscription status (whether you have an active subscription and which plan). Payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details.
- Usage analytics: which screens you visit and which features you use (for example that a plan was generated or a shopping list completed), together with basic device and app-version information and the price shown to you on the paywall. This includes which recipes are in your plan, which you swap, favourite or mark as cooked, and which shopping-list items you tick, and — to let us compare groups of users — your supermarket, country, household size, cuisine and dietary preferences and your weekly budget as a band (for example "£40–49"). We use PostHog for this, hosted in the EU. Events are tied to a random device ID and, once you sign in, to your account ID so we can understand journeys across devices. Analytics never include your name, email, dislikes, allergies or anything you type, and are not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Measuring our ads: we advertise Measy on TikTok. When someone installs Measy after seeing one of our App Store ads, Apple may tell the ad platform — anonymously, and only combined with other installs — that an ad led to an install. That measurement is carried out by Apple through its privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork, at the App Store level. Measy itself sends no information about you or your device to TikTok or any other ad platform, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your precise location, contacts, camera roll or photos, and we never read data from Apple Health, Google Fit or any other health app.
- We do not show third-party advertising inside the app and we never sell your personal data.
How we use your data
- To build and personalise your weekly meal plan and shopping list.
- To keep your answers and plan in sync across devices when you sign in.
- To send optional reminders (for example about your cooking streak) if you allow notifications — you can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it — for example which recipes people plan and cook, so the catalogue gets better.
- To produce aggregated, anonymised statistics about how Measy is used — such as average dinner budgets by supermarket, or the most-planned recipes — which we may publish or share with partners. These statistics describe groups of people, never individuals: we only publish figures based on many households, and nothing in them can identify you.
Our legal bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on: performance of a contract (building your plan and
running your subscription), legitimate interests (keeping the app working,
secure and improving, and measuring whether our own advertising works), and consent (optional notifications and the optional
Measy Fit backup, both of which you can withdraw at any time).
Where your data lives
Your answers and plan are stored on your device. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they are also
stored in our cloud database (hosted by Supabase) so they follow you across devices. Access is
restricted so that only your signed-in account can read or change your own data.
Our hosting providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are
protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or
UK-approved standard contractual clauses.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run Measy: Apple and Google (sign-in and
payments), Supabase (secure data hosting), RevenueCat (subscription management) and PostHog (usage analytics, EU-hosted). These providers process data on our behalf and
cannot use it for their own purposes. We do not share your data with advertising platforms; ad results reach them only as anonymous,
aggregated install counts from Apple (see “Measuring our ads” above). We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Aggregated, anonymised statistics (see "How we use your data") may be shared with partners; they contain no personal data.
How long we keep it — and deleting it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. You can permanently delete your
account and everything stored with it at any time, directly in the app:
Settings → Account → “Delete account &
data”. You can also email us and we will remove it for you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy
of your personal data, and to restrict or object to our use of it. To exercise any of these
rights, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information
Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Measy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update it here and refresh the date at
the top of this page.
